THIS DAY IN MUSIC
1967, The Beatles were shown in the first-ever global-wide satellite broadcast.  Because it was being transmitted to many non-English-speaking countries, the BBC asked The Beatles to 'keep it simple'.  John Lennon wrote ‘All You Need is Love’ for the show, culminating 1967's 'summer of love.'

Music is widely used to promote a sense of well-being and to distract patients from pain and other unpleasant symptoms, thoughts and feelings
Music helps to improve mood and decrease anxiety, as well as decrease the pain associated with surgery, medical procedures and chronic conditions
